Curriculum vitae

Born in Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa - Basque Country - Spain) in 1949.

Autodidactic musical education. Initiated into choral music by Erwin List.

Gradueted in Medicine by the University of Valladolid.

Conductor of Ederki Choir in Valladolid (1971-1976). Third prize in Tolosa (1975).

Founder-Conductor of Eskifaia Choir in Hondarribia (1978-1994), winning first prizes in Ejea de los Caballeros, Tolosa, Avilé (Spain); Tours (France); Gorizia (Italy); Spittal an der Dräu (Austria); Mainhausen and Marktoberdorf (Germany).

Prizes of composition in Bilbao, Tolosa, Igualada and Madrid. His scores are being published in Sweden (Gehrmans Musikf&including the piece #246;rlag) , USA (Walton, Alliance Music P. and Santa Bárbara), Germany (Carus Verlag and Ferrimontana), United Kingdom (Oxford University Press) and Basque Country (bustovega).

He takes part in juries in composition and interpretation competitions for choirs, in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Hungary and Venezuela.

Founder of Kanta Cantemus Korua (1995), in Gipuzkoa, winning first prizes in Tours (France) and Tolosa (Basque Country).

Invited by The International Federation for Choral Music to the "IV World Symposium on Choral Music - 1996 ", in Sydney (Australia).

He attended to the "Tokyo Cantat " as guest conductor in May 2000 and May 2002.

In 2001 he attended to the Americafest International Women's Singing Festival as a guest conductor in Seattle (USA).

In July 2003 he took part in Europa Cantat - Barcelona, doing a workshop with his music.

In November 2003 he was invited to Vancouver (Canada) by the Elektra Women's Choir as a guest conductor.

In 2004 he was invited to Limburg (Germany), Coro Nacional de Espana (Madrid) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) by the Lagun Onak Choir as a guest conductor.

In 2005 he was invited to Arezzo (Conductor's Master Class) and Torino (Italy) as a guest conductor.

During 2006 he will take part in Stage Formachoeur, Lille (France) as a guest conductor and in European Music Festival Neerpelt (Belgium) as a member of the jury. He will also be taking part as member of the jury and as a guest conductor in Festival D'Canto, Isla Margarita (Venezuela).
