Earn Graduate Credits!Festival 500 and Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) FESTIVAL 500 Sharing the Voices and Memorial University of Newfoundland co-sponsor a Choral Institute for those interested in earning graduate credit through Memorial University. In this institute, the choral festival and The Phenomenon of Singing Symposium VI create an unparalleled resource of opportunities for graduate students and professionals. Through general participation in both the festival and symposium, engagement with internationally renowned artists and scholars, and reflection and research, participants can expand their knowledge of and experience with all aspects of singing. Both the Faculty of Education and School of Music at Memorial University offer a complement of graduate courses in the areas of choral conducting, vocal/choral pedagogy and singing traditions and practices (the 2007 Festival has a Celtic focus). Participants will be engaged in a series of varied experiences designed to increase understandings of varied theoretical and practical applications of vocal and choral music-making. Acceptance in the FESTIVAL 500 Choral Institute is dependent upon acceptance by Memorial University of Newfoundland. Enrolment is limited, so register early.
